I'm Dave Anderson. I'm quality assurance manager here at Efco, and I've been with the company for 20 years and I've been quality assurance manager for the last three.

00:11 - 00:38
So came from shop floor supervisor to senior supervisor roles in production into this I've only been quality assurance manager. This is my first kick at it. And this will be year three I'm on right now. So I've always been in production supervision and senior supervision until February 2020, when I was promoted to this position.

00:38 - 00:44
Quality aspect, I've always been interested in those like just be an improvement minded was like I know we can be better.

00:44 - 00:50
We're not perfect, but let's get as close to perfect as we possibly can and just continue to strive for that.

00:50 - 01:07
The experience I've had, Yeah, like I said in my previous employer, there's steps to that, you know, I have the, know, RAM methodologies down everybody's throats. You just change your approach and, you know, work towards quicker, faster, sustainable solutions. That's what I enjoy about quality.

01:07 - 01:14
Someone from production knows I mean, they know of root causes. They know why things are happening.

01:14 - 01:32
Someone that comes into the quality world. I can't speak for them that's never had that shop floor experience or mentality on how to solve problems. I don't know how they would approach that other than having committees set up and just try to fix this. And might have no input for you.

01:32 - 01:38
Shop floor experience is very beneficial for quality role.

But what we've known from what I experience was, is we were able to get there with the system. We still there with the system. The system has what is needed to provide us what we're looking for, because every company, admittedly, is trying to get compliant. If we educate people, if we get people the education that they need and to get over the fear factor, I think 90% of those things can be resolved because most people will go to what they're most familiar with. What I worked with from a different company, but they're not willing to sit down and look at what the demographics are saying. People are into social media now. People are moving fast into fast paced world. But technologies are still antiquated. So there's a disconnect here, right? So while we're moving at a fast pace at home with dragging at work, so why can't we continue that speed while we at work?If your supplier has issues and you're not informed on time, you want to have an alternate supplier in place. If your suppliers are not qualified, you may not know that that needs to happen. And so when you have an integrated system that speaks to itself and is giving you all this data, you literally have the pulse of the organization in your hands as an executive at a money bound access.
