Time saved in streamlining communicaton

In this video, Seth Bozman delves into the significant time savings and efficiency gains Efco experienced by transitioning to Unifize. He vividly illustrates the cumbersome nature of their previous system for handling quality control documents and how Unifize simplified these processes. Seth’s narrative underscores the direct impact on productivity, from reducing the time it takes to write and manage remake cards to enhancing collaboration across departments. This transformation allowed Efco to not only save time but also improve accuracy and accountability in their operations.

Just the quality department alone, how long it used to take to handwrite cards that's substantial, like it would take you, I mean if you had to say we scrapped out a special, each special needs individually scrapped out because that material needs to be removed from inventory.

00:12 - 00:19
So you'd write 15 remake cards. I mean that could take you an hour and a half, compared to if you're using your fingers on a keyboard, typing it into Unifize.

00:19 - 00:31
I mean, 10 minutes, 15 minutes for 15 cards. So right there alone, you're saving a bunch of time and hand cramps too, you know, like just writing and writing and writing all day. That's unfortunate.

00:31 - 00:42
Yeah the card was strictly just a recordkeeping thing like it was we had it filed in one place and then put it into like It was crazy how many different steps went into just writing a remake card, Right?

00:42 - 00:46
Because then you'd have to get everybody on board, people over here, you'd have to remove it from inventory.

00:46 - 00:52
People on the floor would have to run it. We would have to write it. It would have to get turned back in. I'd have to put in those numbers.

00:52 - 01:05
Compared to now, it's literally just like everybody who ever needs to be on a conversation is on a conversation, right? So if I make a remake card and the only thing that's on it is laser, I'm going to tag the three laser guys in it and that's it.

01:05 - 01:14
Like our quality department’s always tagged on all of them but it definitely reduces the time of me handwriting a card, walking it down there and being like, yeah, I'll get to when I get to it instead of it's just like right there.

01:14 - 01:17
It's like, yeah, we can run that right now. We can run it real quick.

01:17 - 01:22
I have a nest right here instead of like, are they? Because not everybody is exactly where they are all the time, right? It’s a big plant.

01:22 - 01:25
People are running around looking for parts, just troubleshooting, doing a whole bunch of stuff.

01:25 - 01:47
So if you walk around with a card in your hand trying to find somebody, it's not as efficient as I mean, you guys have an app on your phone, you know what I mean? I can just send it on its way and it's going and I can say without a doubt that it's so much easier to keep track of the things that we have on the floor because instead of having it stored in three different places of work, remake cards are out and they're doing it's all in one place.

01:47 - 02:03
It's just on Unifize. It's just in a conversation. All you have to do is be like, just say three days went by and it's a special and supervisor is like, hey, I really need those parts. Where are they? You know, it's just in my opinion reduce the amount of confusion of where something could be and it definitely got the piece of paper out of people's hands.

02:03 - 02:09
You know it's right there. You most people are sitting at their desk reading emails. It's like Unifize right there. Open it up.

But what we've known from what I experience was, is we were able to get there with the system. We still there with the system. The system has what is needed to provide us what we're looking for, because every company, admittedly, is trying to get compliant. If we educate people, if we get people the education that they need and to get over the fear factor, I think 90% of those things can be resolved because most people will go to what they're most familiar with. What I worked with from a different company, but they're not willing to sit down and look at what the demographics are saying. People are into social media now. People are moving fast into fast paced world. But technologies are still antiquated. So there's a disconnect here, right? So while we're moving at a fast pace at home with dragging at work, so why can't we continue that speed while we at work?If your supplier has issues and you're not informed on time, you want to have an alternate supplier in place. If your suppliers are not qualified, you may not know that that needs to happen. And so when you have an integrated system that speaks to itself and is giving you all this data, you literally have the pulse of the organization in your hands as an executive at a money bound access.
